The all new Maserati Alfieri concept sport car is here. The Maserati Alfieri is a tribute to Maserati’s sports heritage while also setting a precedent for the future of Maserati designs. The inspiration for the Alfieri came from one of the most iconic cars ever produced, the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS, this car was a pedigree racing machine and a masterpiece of automotive design.  However even with this heritage the new Maserati is not a sentimental and educational study, we believe at Lifestyle that it is one of the most exquisite sculptures on wheels to date.

The new concept car unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show takes its name from the founder of Maserati, Alfieri Maserati. Like the team here at Lifestyle Alfieri adored speed, he raced both as mechanic and from behind the wheel with great success.

The Alfieri will feature a turbocharged V8 kicking out around 450 horsepower and 390 ft lbs of torque. The chassis of the concept car is shared with the GranTurismo the only other two door car on Maserati’s production line, however the Alfieri will be 9.5 inches shorter. With this new concept car Maserati aim to enter the same market as the stylish Jaguar F type coupe.

Maserati have come up with an elegant design for the Alfieri while also staying align with the typical long low nose and imposing grille that is futuristic yet undeniably Maserati. The reformed tripe air ducts on the wheel arches are now seamlessly integrated into the overall sophisticated design of the car. The car features Bi-xenon LED headlamps and taillights with three dimensional units, consisting of two red external elements and one white internal element. The rear of the car is shaped to flow with the taillights and combine with the air ducts underneath to give the car a refined look. The decorative spokes of the wheels, brake calipers, the grille, rear diffuser, inspiring eyebrow of the exhaust pipes and the recognisable triple air ducts are all finished in a Maserati blue allowing the car to make a real statement.

Here at lifestyle we believe this is a truly magnificent car and it is expected to be released in 2016. It is also rumoured that it will be available in convertible version and we believe this would take the car to the next level. Imagine driving this stylishly designed Italian sculpture down the country roads with the sun overlooking you.

The car is predicted to be priced around the £70,000 mark, more information can be found on the Alfieri concept car at the Maserati website.
