Mercedes-Benz Launches 360 Degree interactive Film
Have you ever wanted to experience the speed and sound of driving in the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 W05? Now you can with the new Mercedes 360 degree film, bringing you closer to the real thing than ever before, giving the viewer full control over the camera to see action from almost every angle.
Mercedes Launched the the new F1 W05 ahead of its first pre-season test in Jerez, Spain. Like the rest of the 2014 field, Mercedes’ challenger uses a turbocharged, 1.6-liter V6 as part of a hybrid power-train.
Managing director of Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains Andy Cowell has said “This challenge has pushed us to develop cutting-edge new technologies, both within the Internal Combustion Engine itself and in the ERS (Energy Recovery System) Hybrid system, with the valuable support of our Research and Development colleagues in Stuttgart. These will enable us to develop over 30 percent more power per unit of fuel than we did with the V8 engine.”
The film was produced at Sliverstone Circuit in high definition and uses a set of six cameras to capture a full, 360-degree moving view as driver Nico Rosberg pilots the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 W05 racer around the track. See bellow and remember it is interactive!
The footage was recorded at first test of the new 2014 challenger, set to be seen competing for the first time at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 16. For updates on our latest articles don’t forget to follow us on twitter.
